Have you ever tried to log on to the VMware vCenter Server Appliance and got a “Password Expired” error? I have. Too many times to count (4). So here are the steps to fix it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Log in to vCenter<\/li>
  2. Open the console of the VCSA VM<\/li>
  3. Log in with the expired password<\/li>
  4. Goto Troubleshooting Mode Options and enable SSH and BASH<\/li>
  5. putty (SSH) to the VCSA with the root account<\/li>
  6. type: shell<\/li>
  7. type passwd<\/li>
  8. enter the password twice (note: password can be the same as the old password)<\/li>
  9. log on to the VCSA VAMI<\/li>
  10. Goto Administration and change the expiration settings if need be<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    This will work for version 6.5 and 6.7. Not sure about 7.0 yet.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
